S.p. Squinzano-Casalabate, Km 7 - SQUINZANO (LE)
First the olive grove, then the pond with water lilies, then the vegetable garden and the citrus grove.

Welcoming you is a lush and well-maintained countryside, just steps away from the sea.

An oasis of peace and a triumph of nature's sounds. The silence is only interrupted by the chirping of cicadas and the singing of birds.

Tenuta Badessa has a long history dating back to the early 1300s: it was owned by monks, then passed into the hands of wealthy French wine producers.

For over a century, it has belonged to the Azzolini family, who transformed it into a thriving agricultural village at the beginning of the 1900s: there were houses for the farmers, stables for the animals, and warehouses for the tools.

Livestock was raised, and oil and citrus fruits were produced.

Today, Tenuta Badessa still retains a lively agricultural vocation, but not only that.

It has opened up to hospitality with spacious apartments, a few panoramic rooms, and a restaurant that offers authentic dishes.

For relaxation, there is a swimming pool in the meadow and the surrounding countryside for rejuvenating walks among orange trees and centuries-old olive trees.

Grandmother Rosaria started the renovation in 2002, transforming the farmhouses into charming apartments, the pigsty into a reception and a point of sale for Masseria products, the tool shed into a large restaurant, the shed into a hall for parties and conferences, and the stable for horses and cows into a museum of peasant civilization. The pool is located where the animal enclosure used to be.

Young niece Francesca passionately manages Tenuta Badessa and welcomes guests like old friends.
