The story
Once it was just a typical mountain house. Now, after one year of passionate works its cellar, stable, kitchen,bedroom, hayloft and loft had been converted into a confortable maison, where you could experience the Aosta Valley tradition of living. Six comfortable rooms that resume possession of their original names,”crota,ehstabio,peyo,chiambretta,pailly,ras”, in which relax and look for the deepest peace of mind.

Six rooms with customized fittings, equipped with high quality conforts but always keeping original characteristics. Furthermore, in the house surroundings, solarium and outdoor relaxing areas are at disposal for resting the mind.

Starting from building’s employed materials to both indoor and outdoor coverings, we tried to create a bio compatible house. Also, we choose ecological energy for warming up the water and solar panels for the heating.

Where we are
The Maison is located in the old village of Maè at 1100 meters of altitude, setted in the marvellous Ayas Valley, that has been called “one of the most beautiful European valley”. It is surrounded by the fascinating Mont Néry and Dame de Challand peaks, further to alpine lakes, sheperd’s hut, pastures and offers an unforgettable view of the Graines ‘ castle ruins.

You could choose wheter to explore the southern side of the valley, towards Verrès, walking through chestnut and broad-leaved reaching Villa’s castle ruins, lake and natural falls, or hiking in the northern side through conifers and ancient quartz mines, along medieval irrigation canal and finally reach the Monte Rosa glaciers. For people fond of no kill fishing, there’s the possibility to practise this activity in the Casinò supply, in Evançon stream in Challand Saint Anselme.

During the winter season a lot of other suggestions for your outdoor activities. In Brusson, few km far from Maè, is located the international cross country track, among the best in Europe, where World Cup had been played. In Palasinaz are available both cross country and alpine slopes together with a snow park and others at Col di Joux, natural terrace overlooking the Valley and from where it’s possible to see also the Mont Blanc on sunny days. Finally, in Champoluc the widest skiarea, the Monterosaski, that offers more than 190 km of slopes, covering also Gressoney and Alagna Valleys.
