If you want to go to Antica Dimora in Bergamo, you have to stay there. Fantastic experience, perfect check-in, excellent private parking, spacious, elegant and very clean room. Excellent breakfast. The strong point is the owner, kind, friendly and helpful.

Matteo was extremely helpful. Huge ease of access to the Antica Dimora B&B in Historic Residence for check-in. Everything was magnificent. I will come back!

Charming and well-organized structure. Convenient to the upper part of Bergamo and the center of lower Bergamo; both destinations within walking distance. The Mergherlta room where we stayed was comfortable, spacious, and quiet. Varied breakfast (including fresh berries), both sweet and savory, and plentiful. Mr. Matteo is kind, present, and helpful. We will definitely return on our next trip to the area.

Fabulous structure in a very convenient location both in the upper part and in the lower part of the city. Very helpful manager, great breakfast, cleanliness and courtesy.

Very charming place as described. The rooms are comfortable and well heated in winter. Stayed in a suite with 3 teens and preteens and they loved the experience.

Great atmosphere!

I stayed at this property in December 2023. The B&B Antica Dimora is located on the first floor of a beautiful and well-kept sixteenth-century palace. The owner, Mr. Marco, welcomes guests with professionalism, kindness, and courtesy. The spacious room with high and decorated ceiling, fireplace, and antique furniture. Large bathroom equipped with all comforts. The breakfast room is cozy and elegant with a rich selection of food ranging from sweet to savory (I would only suggest the possibility of choosing between two types of fruit juice). In the palace courtyard, there is the possibility to park the car by reservation at a cost of 5 Euros per day. Also pleasant is the walk along the historic Via Pignolo which leads to the center in a few minutes on foot. A thank you to Mr. Marco for allowing us to leave the car parked in the courtyard for a few more hours after check-out. Recommended.

Extraordinarily pleasant atmosphere with a historic flair and very friendly operator. Parking in the courtyard. Both the upper town and the lower town are easily accessible on foot. We have been there for the second time and will gladly come back.

An excellent historic place to stay, only negative thing is the hard bed, but we knew that already.

What a wonderful Bed and Breakfast! The host is very kind and helpful. The building itself is an old palace and has a wonderful atmosphere. The location is perfect, centrally located between the old and the "new" town, and close to the funicular to the old city. The bed is very comfortable and breakfast delicious with lots of choice. Would certainly recommend to stay here. Also it has a parking space available.

This is a lovely B&B in a historic building. Excellent communication with Matteo before and during our stay. The breakfasts were an excellent buffet style offering. Parking was secure and easy. The property is about a 15-minute walk to the funicular for the Città Alta. This is a historic building so do not expect modern decor. We would come back.

Everything perfect. The only problematic thing is the distance, uphill, from the center of Bergamo Alta (15 minutes). Then you take the cable car, which is further away but not uphill.

Property as advertised in a palace with antique furnishings. We had a quiet room overlooking the courtyard. I feel that cold meat and cheese should be on a refrigerated display due to the room and city's ambient temperature. Bread, fruit, and drinks were perfectly fine. Matteo, the host, was helpful, pleasant, and unobtrusive.

Excellent, I recommend it.

Amazing old and beautiful building. Matteo is a really nice host and told us about the history of the property. We arrived late but with the perfect explanation of Matteo we could park our car (which in the older parts of Bergamo is very difficult) right next to the B&B and get in our room with the use of door codes. It is central but quiet and we slept really well. Thanks Matteo.

Attentive and professional welcome.

Had a wonderful stay! Loved the Elizabetta room - very clean and spacious. Breakfast was a fantastic spread in an amazing room. And Matteo was so easy to work with.

Magnificent.

We returned very gladly both for the structure, in a historic palace with a strategic position and the convenient internal parking, and for the kindness and courtesy of Mr. Matteo.

Charming structure with a late 19th-century atmosphere. Friendliness, cleanliness, and hospitality complete the picture. The B&B is in a great location to reach both the Upper Town and Lower Bergamo on foot. Highly recommended.

Could be better, unfortunately the rooms need some maintenance. Also, the "tourist tax" we had to pay was 17 euros! Which is a lot of money and for what? Just because the lazy Italians invented another tax. We were not informed about this tax only at check out. Other than this, it's fine.

Very quiet, cozy, elegant accommodation with a very basic breakfast.

This was a stunning property. Our room was spacious, elegant and immaculate (fit for a King and Queen!) Our bed was a dream. Our breakfast was delicious. We had free, on-site parking! There was no lift but Matteo assisted us in carrying our bags up the stairs. Our location was just a bit of a walk up to the Augustino Gate. Matteo was an excellent host. Thank you.

The host, Matthew, is truly wonderful and welcoming, and couldn't be more helpful. The building is breathtaking and full of history, very charming. The rooms are so historic, with the most beautiful shutters and windows. The breakfast was of fantastic quality with plenty of options. The beds weren't the most comfortable, and the showers weren't as powerful as I would have liked - but these were only two very insignificant points that did not impact my stay.

We selected the Antica Dimora B&B because of its central location right between the upper old city and the newer city center, both parts nicely reachable in walking distance. We were also intrigued by the B&B itself, being located in an old Italian palazzo. The room and interior was very nice and clean, big and with a sky-high ceiling. Matteo, the host, did everything to make us feel comfortable and at home! Breakfast was lovely, too! We would always choose this B&B again in Bergamo!

Beautiful B&B located within a historic building (Suardi palace) elegant and stately, very well maintained and with visible frescoes that take you back in time. The structure was quiet even though we had the Suite Sofia overlooking the street, but it is spacious with frescoed ceilings and antique furniture. Comfortable mattress and pillows. Some problem with the shower plate drain. Very beautiful breakfast room with frescoes, excellent breakfast, well-kept and generous both in quality and quantity. Each room has its own table ready for waking up. Equipped with free internal parking by reservation, very good also the location between the upper town and lower Bergamo. Congratulations to Mr. Matteo for his kindness, courtesy, and availability.

History buffs, this is for you. Sleep in the suite where Vittorio Emanuele III once stayed. Breakfast with a view of the C17 wall paintings. Enjoy free parking in the city centre. And all without spending a fortune. Top marks for classy evocation of times past. Bravo!

Position is perfect. The historic suite "Sofia" where we stayed is superb but needs a bit of renovation. Its lighting has to be improved. The suite looking on to the street is, in spite of double glass window and shutters, a bit noisy. The host is very professional and efficient. Breakfast is correct and served in a very nice room. In short a good address.

Wir haben uns sehr wohl gefühlt und wurden von Matteo herzlich begrüßt und verabschiedet (sogar mit einem give away - wie es jetzt neudeutsch heißt: casoncelle alla bergamasca. Die Lage ist perfekt, um ganz Bergamo zu erkunden (untere und obere Stadt). Wir haben das Quartier auch deshalb ausgesucht, weil es in einem alten Palazzo untergebracht ist. Bergamo ist wirklich eine beeindruckende Stadt und die Unterkunft hat ihren Betrag dazu geleistet. Vielen Dank!

La struttura è ubicata in una delle più belle vie di Bergamo bassa. La posizione è ottimale anche per raggiungere (a piedi o in funicolare) la città di Bergamo alta. Vorrei sottolineare la cortesia e la gentilezza del proprietario oltre all'eleganza della struttura (Palazzo Suardi). Comodo e da non trascurare anche il parcheggio interno che consente di lasciare l'auto in un posto tranquillo e sicuro. Le stanze sono pulite, arredate elegantemente. La stanza per la colazione è sontuosa e la colazione è ricca e gustosa.

Eine hervorragende Unterkunft. Sehr zentral gelegen. Freundlicher Gastgeber. Sehr umfangreiches Frühstück. Es kann nachts etwas Verkehrslärm geben. Wir waren im kühlen Spätherbst da, weshalb die Fenster geschlossen blieben und der Verkehr nicht störte. Wir kommen sehr gerne wieder.

B&B di lusso, situato all'interno di un palazzo nobiliare, in posizione strategica tra la città alta e la città bassa e commerciale. È un palazzo affrescato, bellissimo, ben arredato, dove si respira un'atmosfera calda e familiare. Le camere sono ampie e dotate di ogni comfort. La pulizia è molto accurata. La colazione è molto ricca e si svolge in un salotto bellissimo. Matteo non solo ci ha accolto con gentilezza e professionalità ma si è reso anche disponibile a risolvere i problemi. Consigliatissimo.

Ottimo soggiorno da ogni punto di vista, anche qualità/prezzo. La particolarità delle stanze affrescate, anche dove si fa colazione, rende unica l'esperienza di soggiornare in questo B&B. Consigliatissimo.

Our host could not have been more accommodating or helpful. My only problem was the beds. Not that they were uncomfortable but I like more of a bed rather than a better tan average cot type of arrangement. That said, we did sleep well. It would not keep me from going there again.

This is a wonderful place to stay, especially for a romantic get away. It is not really suited to young children and the elderly or people with mobility problems will struggle with the stairs and the geographical location generally; going to the old city (which is a must) is a bit of an uphill trek (15 mins or more), though the new part of the town is very flat. Overall I could not recommend Antica Dimora more highly. Matteo the manager is very friendly and accommodating and there are numerous bars and restaurants within a few minutes walk.

We had a wonderful time in Bergamo, the B&B is well placed for visiting and spending time in the best part of Bergamo, the historic part. The accommodation itself is unassuming from the outside, but inside is quite remarkable, with a sweeping stone staircase leading the to the accommodation. With fresco's adorning the walls and ceilings and the history of the palace is interesting. There are only a few rooms, which adds to its charms. The host was fabulous and responded on emails prior to arriving. It's quiet and great for couples looking for a few days away. Breakfast choice was varied and the setting was superb. I couldn't rate this little gem of a find high enough for what we wanted. Thanks to Matteo.

Lovely old premises in Bergamo situated midway between the alta and bassa. Although the decor is in need of some restoration the evidence of past grandeur still exists. The room was clean and spacious with wonderful frescos on the ceilings of both the room and the breakfast room. Matteo the host was welcoming, friendly, helpful and polite. Nothing was too much for him. He even provided us with a complimentary bottle of local wine and snacks. The breakfast was tasty and there was plenty of choices. I would definitely stay again.

Ottima struttura a poche centinaia di metri dal centro di Bergamo alta, antico palazzo del 500 con stupendi affreschi, sembra di essere in un museo, sala colazione stupenda, camere dotate di aria condizionata ma con arredamenti in stile con la struttura. La mattina ci si sveglia in un'atmosfera magica e si fa colazione in una sala meravigliosa. Host molto gentile e disponibile.

Excellent place. A convenient arrangement between the top and lower city, own parking in the closed yard. The benevolent and careful owner of this historical hotel (Matteo - many thanks). We will stay in this hotel again on the following summer holiday 2016.
