Federico is an excellent host. His English is excellent and our chats with him were one of the highlights of our time in Italy. Very helpful suggestions for restaurants etc. Location is close to all sites. The train station and bus station are a block away. We loved our morning cappuccinos.

Things felt a little chaotic with the host living so far away in Empoli. The 8:30 AM breakfast didn't work out for us, a little too late. One time the host didn't come in for breakfast, and one time he was very late. Also, we were surprised that the host was not living on-site; perhaps that is normal in Italy. But it would not be a good situation for a female traveling by herself. \n\nOverall, the host was very friendly and helpful. The location was excellent.

Perfect solution for a stay in Florence. Repay the flights of stairs when arriving at the third floor of this historic building. Already recommended to friends and family, because the environment is super cozy and the owners are equally welcoming. The atmosphere you breathe is really nice. Cross the street from the station and you're there. Via della Scala runs alongside Piazza S. Maria Novella, no need to walk through the chaos of the station. Walk along the street, with beautiful buildings and many little bars, and you'll find yourself in Piazza S. Maria Novella and from there to S. Maria in Fiore or Piazza Signoria or along the Arno River only takes a few minutes. Great location, and you'll feel really comfortable (even rest is assured). We stayed in the triple room at the end of May. Thank you Federico, Michele, and Sarah, bye!

The Black Sheep is a gem right in the heart of Florence. My friend and I were extremely lucky that we took a chance to stay at this place. The host made sure to provide the best experience & give fresh croissants in the morning. I believe of all the hotels and airbnbs, this by far has been THE BEST. I would recommend this place to anyone in a heartbeat, especially outside travelers!

We chose 'The Black Sheep' mainly for its location in Florence and we are so glad we did. The host, Federico, is wonderful, the whole place was spotless, our room and bathroom were spotlessly clean as well. An added bonus was the coffee maker in the room! We would completely recommend it as a relaxing, comfortable place to stay in Florence.

Fantastic structure, small but cozy. Perfect for 2 people. Cleanliness and fragrance distinguish it. Two minutes walk from Santa Maria Novella station and the historic center. The owner Federico is exquisite! If I were to return to Florence, I would definitely go back.

Excellent central location for visiting Florence on foot. Federico is a super host, he makes you feel not like you are at your own home but goes far beyond with his availability. Incredible, perfect.

B&B very close to Santa Maria Novella train station and a short walk from the city center. Federico was very welcoming even though we arrived outside the indicated check-in time and available to provide us with directions to places to dine and have lunch. His father and mother were very nice preparing breakfast with very fresh croissants and offering jam of their own production and fruit from their field. Room with air conditioning, clean and equipped with every comfort. Good value for money. If we were to return to Florence we would not hesitate to choose again the B&B The Black Sheep of Federico because it feels like being at home. Congratulations!

We were 3 at The Black Sheep B&B, a structure located next to Santa Maria Novella train station, absolutely kind and helpful manager, quite spacious environment, all very clean, remarkable attention to detail. Frederico was a fantastic host who went out of his way to make my wife and me feel comfortable. He took the train to come bring us fresh croissants every day for breakfast, was extremely generous with his recommendations and is overall an exceptionally charming individual. The room was beautiful, classy, and located a 5-minute walk from the train station, right in the heart of Florence. We will be staying here again if we visit in the future!

My friend and I spent three splendid days in Florence, which wouldn't have been so beautiful without the presence of The Black Sheep and the manager. The B&B is located just a few steps from Santa Maria Novella station and the place for morning breakfast: we appreciated the advantageous location, connected to the most interesting cultural centers of the city. The services offered were really pleasant and all well taken care of. Federico was very kind and courteous from the beginning, and besides seeming very nice, he was attentive to providing for our needs, getting in touch with us to know how the stay was going and showing interest in possible requests aimed at improving it. The only criticism could be directed at the wi-fi connection, given the poor signal recorded in the room: but for those interested in spending most of the day around Florence or simply looking for the convenience of the B&B's opening room (where, among the various comforts, it seemed to us that the structure's connection worked better), it shouldn't be a drama. We will definitely come back.

Perhaps since we visit Florence, the bed and breakfast The Black Sheep seemed the best to us. In fact, we must compliment the manager, Mr. Federico, for his continuous and punctual assistance, albeit remotely, due to a small problem, for the cleanliness and for the breakfast vouchers that we could use at a cafe pastry shop near the b&b. In conclusion, thank you for everything. We will come back.

We stayed at the B&B on the 18th-20th of October and we really enjoyed it, very clean, abundant breakfast, located 5 minutes walk from Santa Maria Novella Station and very close to the center, extremely helpful managers that make you feel a bit like at home. The rooms, besides being very cute, are particularly quiet, you sleep like "dormice". Highly recommended.

We didn’t actually stay here because of the stairs up to the room. When we told the host the stairs were a problem, he searched for a property in the same area, called and booked the room, negotiated the price down to what he was charging at his property, and carried most of our luggage as he led us a few blocks to the new property and verified a working elevator. It was friendly service above and beyond what we could ever have expected. Great Host!

The property is easy to reach as it is just a few minutes' walk from the S. M. N. train station. The property is beautiful, as is the room: everything is tastefully furnished with a welcoming modern style that makes you feel comfortable. Clean spaces, quiet room, possibility to cook and even leave food in the fridge. The manager was welcoming, kind, and helpful. Upon our request, he provided specific breakfast products even though there was some initial confusion about the choice due to a lack of knowledge of the ingredients, but in the end, he was good at meeting our needs. We thank him very much for the demonstrated availability even in storing luggage at check-out. A truly beautiful stay: thank you!

The breakfast consisted of a croissant, quite tasty but unhealthy, I only remember the host being on time for breakfast the first morning, didn’t show up for breakfast the second day without even a phone call to me and it seemed typical of his poor time management to be late for check-out (as he had "kindly" offered to carry my large suitcase down the 4 flights of stairs to the street) he then helped me reach the tram for both of these acts I was very grateful, however his being late "again" caused me to miss my flight by minutes and therefore cost me the same as 3 nights of accommodation at his B&B as I had to pay fees and penalties to re-book a flight and also cost me a day out of my holiday as I couldn’t reach my destination until the following day.

One word to describe this place and the host - WOW! The location was fantastic, minutes from the train station. Excellent instructions on how to get there. We were met by Federico, who is very pleasant, charming, and accommodating. He is very organized, had maps with places to visit and must-sees, or places to eat, circled for us on the map. We had originally booked a room where we had to take stairs to go down to the bathroom, and when he saw how inconvenient it was for two "mature" ladies, he accommodated us in one of the rooms on the main floor that was vacant, with no extra charges to us. They had a menu of what we wanted to order for breakfast the next day and served us delicious pastries with tea/coffee, juice, yogurt. We asked if we could get milk and cereal, and the next day he had that for us on the table. He had a fruit basket with apples, bananas, and oranges that we were told to help ourselves to. There was a fridge in the room, and he provided water, juice, and boxes of snacks, all at no extra cost. Please note that there are three rooms being rented in this B&B, so you are sharing the common areas, living room, and kitchen with other guests. All guests have their own private bathroom. I would highly recommend this place for anyone visiting Florence. Thank you, Federico. We will never forget your hospitality.

We chose this property for the Firenze Rocks event and the manager seemed very friendly and accommodating right from the start. The B&B is in a strategic location, very convenient because it's a 5-minute walk from the train station and close to the city center; the rooms are very nice, beautifully furnished, with an external bathroom but still reserved for guests. However, right from the online booking, the way the situation was handled seemed a bit confusing to us: we booked a double room and then were moved to another one due to overbooking, the manager then apologized including the tourist tax and breakfast in the new booking. Despite having notified our arrival and departure times well in advance, a week before the booking date we were asked again because it was uncertain who would welcome us. On the same day, we were welcomed by another person than agreed, we weren't even given an invoice or receipt for payment, which we had to leave in the room haphazardly, as we never had the opportunity to meet the manager. Last but not least: no breakfast, contrary to what was stated. We remain somewhat perplexed and hope it was just a momentary lapse.

The quality-price ratio is excellent as the relationship between owner and customer, great kindness and availability in a B&B that is truly welcoming and well maintained. Just a stone's throw from Santa Maria Novella station, it allows you to reach all places of interest in a few minutes.

Besides a few flights of stairs, the only thing that could be changed is to serve breakfast earlier. Starting at 8:30 is a bit late for travelers. Federico is a great host! Lots of great help. Stay here no questions.

Absolutely a great place to stay. Close to the train station, which was important for us, and not far to walk to everything else when we were not dragging our suitcases. Donatello is a craftsman and artist and has remodeled the rooms perfectly with everything that you need and not a bunch of clutter that you don't. Very comfortable beds & pillows and modern bathroom. He is also a great host who met us for breakfast at our preferred time. Made us fresh espresso and had wonderful assortments of pastries, fruit, and yogurt. He stayed and chatted with us about Florence and what activities we had planned, offering great suggestions about a city he knows very well. I would definitely recommend staying at The Black Sheep again, and again!

Accoglienza meravigliosa, Donatello è un perfetto padrone di casa, cortese, simpaticissimo e davvero disponibile. Stanza molto bella e pulita. Colazione ottima servita ad unico tavolo, occasione per fare qualche chiacchiera insieme agli altri ospiti e a Donatello, che prepara un caffè fantastico. Atmosfera rilassata e gioviale. Torneremo sicuramente presto.

Trovato su internet, si è mostrato subito un B&B giovane. Conferma avuta non appena visto di presenza. Vicinissimo alla stazione di Firenze Santa Maria Novella e a due passi dal centro storico. La struttura si trova al terzo piano senza ascensore ma non è un problema per la valige perché il gestore verrà fin giù a prenderle. Stanze pulitissime così come il bagno. Noi abbiamo soggiornato nella camera con bagno esterno ma non è stato un problema perché l'ambiente è così familiare da non creare disagi. In camera troverete un frigo con acqua e bevande, inoltre sono presenti bollitore per il tè e caffè americano. Colazione fantastica! Donatello preparerà un buon caffè con la caffettiera oltre che cornetti, latte, yogurt, marmellata, miele, formaggio spalmabile. Bello anche poter fare quattro chiacchiere con il gestore. Letto comodissimo con doppi cuscini, la stanza era calda ma è presente il climatizzatore. Disponibile per gli ospiti anche un computer e connessione WiFi gratuita.

Ottima struttura, vicinissima alla Stazione Santa Maria Novella, comoda per raggiungere a piedi il centro e qualsiasi altro luogo di interesse. Le camere molto pulite e curate, colazione super abbondante con brioche fresche e ogni altra delizia. Il titolare molto gentile e accogliente, ci ha indicato tutti i luoghi da visitare e i ristoranti. Da ritornarci sicuramente.

Struttura ottima, pulita, ben disposta e il titolare, Donatello, è una persona piacevolissima con cui colloquiare. Consigliatissima a tutti, sia per un weekend sia per più giorni. Séjour parfait à Florence grâce à Donatello et son très cosy Black Sheep! Accueil très chaleureux et bienveillant, Donatello partage ses bons plans et fait tout pour que l'on se sente à l'aise chez lui et dans sa ville. Situation parfaite à quelques pas de la gare et à 10 min de marche du centre historique. Je recommande vivement.

The Black Sheep è un ottimo bed & breakfast. Ci siamo trovati veramente bene per quanto riguarda il gestore che è stato molto cordiale e disponibile nel consigliarci le cose da fare con relativi posti dove pranzare e/o cenare, poi per la posizione a un centinaio di metri dalla stazione Santa Maria Novella (personalmente fondamentale) e per la struttura dove ci siamo trovati quasi come a casa a livello di confort. Dista circa 10 minuti a piedi dal duomo di Firenze o da altre attrazioni sempre nelle vicinanze. Colazione quasi meglio di un albergo in quanto il gestore ogni mattina ti fa trovare cornetti freschi di pasticceria con altre cose quali frutta fresca, yogurt, latte, succo d'arancia, pane tostato, qualche formaggio e altro ancora. La colazione è veramente abbondante e non c'è assolutamente niente da dire. Consiglio personalmente questo B&B lontano dal baccano ma allo stesso tempo vicino a ciò che interessa sul serio e comodo per poi tornare nella propria città.

Struttura interessante e "simpatica" a partire dal nome che certamente non è comune e che appare subito abbastanza intrigante. Di forte apprezzabilità le qualità del gestore: informato, attento, disponibile, corretto. Abbiamo potuto fruire di ulteriori servizi senza costi aggiuntivi: ad esempio la permanenza nella struttura per l'intera giornata del 31 fino alla partenza del treno.

B&B accogliente, situato in un buon punto, pulito, con un gestore più che gentile. Ottimo il rapporto qualità prezzo. Lo consiglio!

Ho pernottato in questa struttura per una notte, tra il 18 e il 19 ottobre. Il B&B si trova a 100m circa dalla stazione di Santa Maria Maggiore, a pochi passi dal centro storico fiorentino. Il titolare, gentilissimo e disponibilissimo, ci ha subito messo a nostro agio e, sbrigate le formalità iniziali, ci ha gentilmente indicato ottimi posti dove passare la serata, nonché le principali attrazioni turistiche. Arredato in modo moderno e originale, dispone di tutte le comodità che ci si può aspettare. Colazione abbondate e gustosa. La prossima volta che tornerò a Firenze sarà sicuramente la mia primissima scelta!

Ma il valore aggiunto è Donatello: gentile, simpatico, competente, disponibile.

Ho soggiornato al Black Sheep dal 10 all'11 maggio. Il proprietario è stato molto gentile e disponibile, la stanza era ampia ed accogliente, forse un po buia: anche di giorno erano necessaria la luce artificiale. Un altro aspetto era l'assenza dell'armadio, sostituito da un appendiabiti al muro e senza cassetti. Sconsiglio questo B&B a chi ha motilità ridotta perché si trova al terzo piano senza ascensore e le scale sono parecchio ripide. Il rapporto qualità-prezzo è davvero eccellente! In ogni caso mi sento di consigliare caldamente di soggiornare qui, se dovessi ricapitare a Firenze ci tornerei senza alcun dubbio.

Molto pulito, veramente vicino sia alla stazione che al centro storico, proprietario molto cortese. Forse bisognerebbe segnalare anche sul sito che il B&B si trova al 3° piano senza ascensore, più che altro magari per persone anziane.
